Based in Massachusetts, Dr. Rene is a culturally responsive clinician who helps adults and families move from feeling overwhelmed to feeling equipped. A graduate of William James College, she holds both a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She pairs rigorous training with more than ten years of front-line experience in community health centers, schools, correctional settings, and outpatient clinics.
Lisa’s clinical focus includes anxiety, depression, and trauma‐related concerns, with particular expertise in how discrimination, racism, and systemic stressors shape mental health in BIPOC communities. She also treats bipolar spectrum disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (using ERP), and complex personality patterns, including Borderline, Narcissistic, Avoidant, and Paranoid Personality Disorders. Clients appreciate her ability to hold space for multiple identities while delivering evidence-based care rooted in CBT, DBT, trauma-informed practice, and mindfulness.
In addition to her therapeutic background, Lisa served as a Psychological Testing Clinician at the Brenner Center for Psychological Assessment, where she conducted comprehensive evaluations that translate data into plain-language recommendations for schools, physicians, and families. Her assessments clarify ADHD, learning differences, mood instability, and personality structure, giving clients and providers a clear roadmap for treatment and support.
Across settings, Lisa creates collaborative, strength-based treatment plans that honor each client’s cultural context, lived experience, and personal goals. Her style is active and relational: she weaves skill practice (mindfulness, emotion regulation, graded exposure) with exploration of the social and systemic forces that may underlie distress.
Outside the therapy room, Lisa mentors emerging Black mental health professionals and has presented workshops on mental health literacy in Haiti, Kenya, and at Harvard Law School.
