Training Program at CCBH

Specialized training in therapy and assessment to help you grow into a confident, well-rounded clinician.

We are currently accepting applications for 2–3 doctoral externship positions for the 2026–2027 academic year. This externship is designed for advanced practicum students who have earned a Master’s degree and are enrolled in APA-accredited clinical or counseling psychology doctoral programs, with prior training in both assessment and psychotherapy.

Description of Program

The CCBH externship provides comprehensive clinical training in a private practice outpatient setting, serving children, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of presenting concerns. Externs provide psychotherapy services, with opportunities to participate in cognitive and personality assessment.

Our practice has a specialty focus in OCD and anxiety disorders. Externs receive structured training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and other evidence-based treatments for complex anxiety presentations. Additional opportunities are available to develop skills in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

Externs also participate in monthly didactic seminars focused on specialized clinical topics to support continued professional development.

Supervision

Externs receive:

  • 1 hour of individual supervision per week

  • 1 hour of weekly group supervision

All supervision is provided by a Licensed Clinical Psychologist.

Terms

This is a 12-month externship, with flexible start and end dates based on academic program requirements.

Externs are expected to:

  • Commit to 16 hours per week

  • Attend weekly group supervision and didactic seminars (Tuesdays, 9:30–11:00 AM, virtual)

  • Attend individual supervision (Preferably Wednesdays; time arranged with supervisor)

Clinical scheduling is flexible and determined collaboratively based on extern and supervisor availability.

Stipend

$1,500 for the training year.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (completed prior to start date)

  • Enrollment in an APA-accredited doctoral program

  • Prior practicum experience in psychotherapy required

  • Experience administering cognitive and personality assessment instruments strongly preferred
