Dr. Shanice Martin holds a doctorate in the Counseling Psychology program at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA, and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Bowie State University in Maryland. She is currently under the supervision of Dr. Laura Russell to complete her postdoctoral residency in clinical psychology.
Dr. Martin has clinical experience working with adolescents, adults, and older adults in diverse settings, including college counseling centers, community mental health agencies, dual diagnosis treatment facilities, and medical and hospital environments. In the therapy room, Dr. Martin employs a strength-based and collaborative approach, incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Adlerian therapy, and mindfulness techniques to address her clients’ unique needs.
Dr. Martin's clinical focus includes depression, anxiety, trauma, life transition and adjustment concerns, and academic and performance-related concerns. Dr. Martin also works with individuals navigating racial and ethnic minority concerns, neurodiversity, faith/spirituality trauma, and relationship difficulties.
Shanice’s self-care consists of long walks, yoga, traveling, reading, baking, and spending time with her loved ones.
