Dr. Amber M. Williams is a postdoctoral resident who earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Howard University after earning a clinical master's degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California. She has clinical experience working with adults across a variety of settings, including college counseling centers, community mental health clinics, and hospital-based environments.

Dr. Williams works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, identity concerns, perfectionism, racial stress, self-esteem difficulties, and the lasting impact of past experiences. She has a particular interest in working with marginalized identities, graduate students, and professionals seeking deeper self-understanding and meaningful personal growth.

Her therapeutic style is collaborative, exploratory, and insight-oriented while also being direct when helpful. Drawing from psychodynamic, interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness-based approaches, Dr. Williams strives to help clients make sense of their experiences, understand patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and develop the insight and confidence needed to create meaningful and lasting change. She strives to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore difficult emotions, strengthen their relationships, and move toward a more authentic and fulfilling life.

Dr. Williams believes that healing begins with understanding. Her goal is to help clients better understand themselves, their relationships, and the experiences that have shaped them so they can move through life with greater intention, self-compassion, and authenticity.

Outside of her clinical work, Amber enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, exploring new restaurants and coffee shops, and finding opportunities for rest and self-care.
